Minutes Annual Parish Meeting May 2022

THE ANNUAL PARISH MEETING WAS HELD ON THURSDAY, 26 MAY 2022

PRESENT:         Cllrs. N Sylvester (Chairman), P Lapczuk, D Price, R Ward, R Walker and 1 member of public

1.         APOLOGIES

            Apologies were received from Cllrs. Devereux & March (ELDC) & accepted

2.         INTRODUCTION

            Cllr. Sylvester welcomed everyone to the meeting

3.         MINUTES

            Proposed, Seconded & Resolved that the minutes 20th May 2021, having been

            circulated and read were signed as a true record.  All in favour

4.         CLERK’S REPORT

            None

5.         PLAYING FIELD

            At the present time there was only 6 committee members and new members were

welcome to help keep this village asset open.  Annual Meeting to take place on 9th July.  It was agreed to look for a new grass cutting machine.  The fencing between the playing field and the Axe & Cleaver required urgent repair and the Chairman, Mrs  Ambler, reported that the contractor was due to carry out the work.  The new

            picnic tables were to be assembled on the hard standing area and the landlord

            would make sure customers didn’t leave any drinking glasses on the tables as

            this is a Health & Safety issue.  The W.I. to donate 3 oak trees to playing field to

            mark Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

6.         HUTTOFT VILLAGE HALL

The Village Hall was fully open and the Outreach Post Office was still operating on Monday mornings & Thursday afternoon.  The fabric of the building was in excellent condition.  New younger residents were welcome to join to maintain its future as the

present members were of a senior age. Events for this year included Jubilee celebrations, table top sales, race night (Oct) & Christmas Concert (Dec) with

Alford Silver Band. Also bingo from Oct-April each year

7.         ST MARGARET’S CHURCH

            A group of residents had formed a group called Friends of St. Margaret’s.  They had

            held an Open Day for residents/visitors to look round the church & they were

            discussing funding with the Diocesan to make repairs as the church was under threat

            of permanent closure.

            None

            There being no further business the meeting closed at 6.45 pm
